Many of us may not actually realize it, but all 50 states have implemented some sort of "move over" law that requires us to change lanes for safety when we see an incident up ahead. These laws are to protect both the drivers involved and anyone responding to the situation.

This covers law enforcement, paramedics, tow trucks, and fire department. Essentially, any time you see flashing lights on the side of the road up ahead, you need to try and work your way over to give them as much room as possible.

Obviously, you won't be able to do that in each and every situation. And here at Crown Ford in Fayetteville, NC, we certainly would never advise you to do anything that would put you in additional harm's way. So, if you can't safely change lanes at the time, then just make sure to slow down and be very careful as you pass by!
